Petit Corona

The size

A petit corona is a small corona, usually 4.5 to 5 inches with a 40 to 42 ring gauge. The Cuban standard is 5.125 x 42, a size Cuban factories call the mareva, and the Montecristo No. 4 is the classic example. It's one of the most popular cigars in the world.

Why smoke one

It's one of the quickest smokes on this list, so it fits when you don't have long. At a 42 ring the wrapper is a bigger share of the tobacco than in a robusto, and its character comes through clearly.

Thin cigars burn hotter than fat ones, so it pays to smoke slowly.
