Belicoso

The size

The traditional belicoso is a short pyramid, often with a slightly rounded head, around 5 to 5.5 inches with a 50 to 54 ring. In Cuban factories the size is called campana, and the Bolívar Belicoso Fino, at 5.5 x 52, is a well-known example.

Why smoke one

The taper gathers the smoke into a smaller opening, which helps the flavors come together. A belicoso's taper is shorter and blunter than a torpedo's, so you get that effect in a more compact cigar.

Below the head it's a full-width cigar, so the filler still does much of the work on flavor. How much you cut off the tip changes the draw.
