Where it grows

The Cagayan Valley in the north of Luzon, especially Isabela province, grows most of the country's cigar tobacco.

The style

Philippine cigars are mild and smooth, and they're usually made entirely from local leaf.

Names you'll see

Tabacalera, founded as the Compañía General de Tabacos de Filipinas in 1881, is the name most people know, and cigars under that brand are still made near Manila, in Cavite.
