Cameroon

In the cigar world Cameroon means one thing: its wrapper. The leaf grows in eastern Cameroon and the neighboring Central African Republic, and it's one of the most recognizable wrappers in the business.

The leaf

Cameroon wrapper is thin and delicate, with a slightly bumpy, toothy surface. It descends from Sumatra seed and gives a cigar a sweet, spicy edge. The crop is small, which keeps it scarce.

Where you'll find it

Very few cigars are rolled in Cameroon. The leaf goes to factories in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras. The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Natural and the Ave Maria Excalibur both wear it.
